Healthzilla for COVID-19

In light of the global COVID-19 crisis, we have decided to apply our team and technology towards development of an Early Detection solution for viral infections. Our updated app contains a more sensitive version of our Stress Score algorithm. This works with most wearable devices, or use our fingertip Stress Scan if you don't have a device.

NOTE: Healthzilla is just a tech company, and we cannot publish this ready solution for COVID-19 ourselves. We need government, research, medical, or healthcare partners to deploy this technology and save lives. We will give you this technology for zero/low cost.

Use-cases for the app

Here are ways in which our technology could be used. We can provide access to our COVID-19 versions for iOS and Android upon request.

NOTE: The apps can be white-labeled for potential partners to launch under their own brand.

Building a research dataset on COVID-19

We have the ability to gather the following data from users that approve the consent disclosures: symptoms, Resting Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability (sdnn), Blood Oxygen (Sp02), Respiratory Rate, last 7-days RHR, last 7-days HRV, raw PPG heartbeat signal from fingertip measurement on any smartphone. This dataset can be used to develop early detection diagnostics for COVID-19, as described in our article.

Local or regional monitoring of COVID-19 symptoms

The app can be used for local reporting of symptoms by volunteers that approve the consent disclosures. We have the ability to visualize the symptoms dataset based on city block level geolocation through our dashboard.

Remote monitoring of suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19

We can give healthcare providers the ability to monitor progression of people with COVID-19 symptoms, to watch out for changes in Resting Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability (sdnn), Blood Oxygen (Sp02), and Respiratory Rate that correlate with serious cases requiring immediate medical attention and/or ventilation support.

How to use the app

Just follow these three simple steps, once you’ve completed the initial onboarding (“Get Started”).

  1. Measure your HRV daily using the fingertip Stress Scan even if healthy. Choose a time for a daily reminder after the first scan is completed. At least two days of measurements are required to get your Stress Score.

  2. Tag any symptoms either after the Stress Scan or using the dedicated “I’m unwell” button on the dashboard.

  3. If you get a Stress Score of Rest or Sick, you should immediately follow local guidelines for isolation and seeking treatment for COVID-19.

COVID-19 features:

- New "I'm unwell" button in Today Tab and Stress Score popup to tag symptoms.

- Tagging of symptoms (optional) after Stress Scan.

- Tagging any symptoms will override Stress Score to be Sick.

- Unusually low HRV sample will override Stress Score to be Sick.

- Updated messaging around Rest and Sick scores and symptoms.

- Consent approval for participating in our research project.

- Gathering of RHR, HRV, Stress Score, Symptoms data for research if consent approved.

- Instructional message after symptoms tagged.

How it works

The app is looking for anomalies in your Heart Rate Variability (“HRV”) data. Anomalies like a sudden drop or a low trend can indicate physiological stress caused by immune system reactions, such as triggered by a viral infection. See our research below for more!

Our research

We have also begun a dedicated research project towards developing better diagnostics for Early Detection. With your consent, we will gather a dataset to empower researchers to discover improved solutions for not only early detection of COVID-19, but also severe cases and Pneumonia.

Q&A

Q: Can I download the app to test for COVID-19?

A: No, this isn't a replacement for testing. Healthzilla requires three days of use before it can detect abnormalities in your data that MAY indicate possible infection. Follow local guidelines for isolation and testing!

Q: How can I get an early warning for COVID-19?

A: Use the fingertip Stress Scan every morning to analyze for anomalies. This requires at least two days of measurement.

Q: Can I continue to use the app normally as before?

A: Yes, you have no obligation to use the COVID-19 features or participate in this research.
